Varied experience depending on staff

The maternity service is generally good but my experience has varied depending on the staff. Some midwives are lovely but I have found some to be quite blunt hindering my experience.

Discharged without care package

At the end of my stay I was discharged without a care package in place. I rang them but they were no help at all. Once you're out they don't care at all or take any responsibility.

Treated quickly in A&E department

I had to go to A&E with a broken finger. I was seen pretty quickly, and it was strapped up. I was happy with the service and treatment.

Good specialist care for Barrett\'s disease

I see my specialist consultant for Barrett's disease every two years when I undergo extensive tests. I also have regular mediation reviews over the telephone and if I have any concerns I can contact the department for advice. I am very happy with the service, and treatment I receive.

Operation within 3 weeks

August 30, 2024
3 weeks after being diagnosed as needing my gallbladder removed the operation was carried out. The operation was carried out as day surgery. Everything went very well and I was happy with the treatment I received. The staff were wonderful and I was happy to get home at the end of the day all having gone very well.

Very good inpatient care

I was admitted for 8 days and spent time being cared for on ward 23 and ward 12. The care I received was excellent. I received a diagnosis and was told that I needed an operation. I was discharged and told that my surgery would be carried out as day surgery. I was very satisfied with the service, treatment and care at Heartlands Hospital.

Very good A&E care

My experience of A&E at Heartlands Hospital was very good. I did spend 24 hours in the department but had my own cubicle and was very well cared for before being transferred to a ward. The staff were extremely busy but kind and took good care of me.

Seen quickly in A&E

I had to attend A&E, I was triaged very quickly and was sent to another clinic, from which I was sent for x-rays. I was very happy with the service and treatment.
