Fantastic when I brought my father in
March 31, 2025
I had heard good things about this hospital but thankfully they were good when we brought my father in to A&E. He had a broken hip so he was in for a few weeks. The service given was fantastic and the food and cleanliness were good. I have no complaints at all.
The worst UHB hospital
March 28, 2025
My experience of Heartlands Hospital has not been great. Its a shame because some of the staff are lovely they just cannot cope with demand. Waiting times there are very long. It is the worst UHB hospital and I try to avoid.
Sent home after starting to be induced

The maternity service is terrible. My pregnancy was overdue so half induced and then they sent me home due to a lack of bed. The staff just didn't seem to care.
A&E make you wait hours

They make you wait for hours to be seen in A&E.
Excellent Care in SDEC

I was transferred to SDEC from A&E with a suspected blood clot. The treatment from the staff on SDEC was outstanding. The department was clean and bright. A very good experience given the circumstances.
Very Good A&E Experience
March 28, 2025
I attended A&E with a suspected blood clot. I was triaged quickly by a nurse and referred on to SDEC for care. I was happy with the care I received in the A&E department and the fact I was seen quite quickly.

My experience at Heartlands Hospital has always been good. The department itself is lovely and the staff are really nice. They have a good system in place meaning appointments run smoothly.

Triaged quickly in A&E

I was very happy with the care I received from the A&E department at Heartlands Hospital. I was triaged very quickly by an A&E nurse who then sent me to another department for care.
Inpatient stay was fine but lacked continuity
March 26, 2025
I spent 2 days in the MAU and it was fine but there was no continuity of care. I didn't see the same doctor twice. I was then moved to ward 22 for a week and the care there was good. The food was also fine for hospital food.
