UHB Heartlands Hospital

I was referred for an urgent MRI scan and I was seen very quickly by Heartlands Hospital. I was happy with how quickly the MRI was carried out, and the appointment went very well. I did have a long wait for results after being referred on to another department.

My experience of the ENT department at Heartlands Hospital was very good but I had a long wait to be seen initially. Once I had my appointment the service delivery, care and treatment was very good. The follow up care was also very good.

I have undergone tests and cancer treatment at Heartlands Hospital. My experience has been very good. The only negative is the parking at the hospital. It is very difficult and it is rare that there is available disabled parking.

I see my oncology consultant at Heartlands Hospital. The parking here is difficult and the hospital is not my closest UHB Hospital. Treatment and appointments would be preferred at Solihull Hospital rather than Heartlands. Travel and parking is very stressful.

My experience of blood tests at Heartlands Hospital has not been great. I always end up with very bad bruising and the experience is not pleasant. I have found staff at another UHB hospital to be more experienced and do not have the same problem.

I attended Heartlands hospital for an ultrasound appointment after a referral was made by my GP. When I attended the appointment the doctor told me that they were not going to do the ultrasound because the problem sounded muscular. I have had kidney problems over the years and I am concerned about what I have been experiencing. I was not happy with the service or care I received. No one had even examined me to determine that the problem was muscular so I am confused about how they have come to that conclusion. I am still having the same problems and the ultrasound could have resulted in a diagnosis or could have been reassurance that there is nothing sinister going on. I am very disappointed.

My experience of the A&E department at Heartlands hospital was okay. There is room for improvement in waiting times and care but I have no complaints.

My experience of ophthalmology care at Heartlands Hospital was not great and since being referred to another UHB hospital the care and service has improved greatly.

I was taken to A&E at Heartlands Hospital by ambulance. I have suspected dementia but have not been officially diagnosed. I was not aware of what was going on or what was wrong with me. In total I was at the hospital for 7.5 hours and dropped back home. I was alone and I do know what was suspected or what tests I had or anything. No one communicated with my family after either, so I just don't know.

The cardiology department have been brilliant.
