Healthwatch Solihull is the consumer champion for health and social care for adults, children and young people. Our role is to enable people to feedback their views and experiences of the health and social care services they receive and for their input to influence how services are planned and delivered in the future.

We have a simple ambition, to make health and social care services better for the people who use them in Solihull. We are here to understand the needs, experience and concerns of people who use services and speak out on their behalf.

Community Outreach Lead

Full time 37 hours per week  Salary £18,000-£20,000 pa. dependent on experience

Closing date; 12 noon 20 Sep.

Interview date; 25 Sep.

We are looking for an energetic and committed full-time Community Outreach Lead, someone who is keen to make a difference to the lives of Solihull people by ensuring that health and care services are geared to their needs.

The main responsibilities of the job are:
▫️Gather the views of residents in Solihull
▫️Attend local events and groups and engage with people in the borough
▫️Find out what services are working well, and what need improving
▫️Be the face of Healthwatch in the community and connect with hard to reach communities
▫️Plan a calendar of outreach opportunities and events that include awareness campaigns
▫️Feedback to the Engagement and Information Lead on what change residents want to see to local health and social care
▫️Get involved in investigations and research with the wider team.

Healthwatch Solihull Board Members (resident of Solihull)

Healthwatch Solihull is the independent consumer champion for health and social care in your local area, delivered by Engaging Communities. Our job is to argue for the consumer interests of those using health and social care services across the Borough, and give local people an opportunity to speak out about their concerns and health care priorities.

We are looking to recruit up to 4 individuals to sit on the Advisory Board who share our passion for developing Healthwatch Solihull as the ‘consumer champion’ for NHS, public health and adult and children’s social care services across the Borough. You will need drive, energy and enthusiasm and the ability to play a leading role in maintaining our vision.

It would be useful to have a background in health or social care, though this is not essential, but you will certainly be able to demonstrate that you have the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities required in ensuring the board plays a key role in improving health and social care services in Solihull. The role of a board member will be to be an ambassador and champion for those using health and social care services and maintaining the independence of Healthwatch and its ability to hold the system to account on behalf of the public.
