I never got a diagnosis or answers

September 28, 2024
I was referred to Heartlands Hospital by my GP with an ongoing problem with my knee. Nothing was really done by the hospital and I feel like I was fobbed off because I am young.

The hospital is dirty and needs improving

September 28, 2024
I have used the accident and emergency department and visited a relative who was admitted on a ward and the hospital is generally very dirty. The wards, the toilets, the public areas are grubby and dirty to look at. A hospital should be spotless.

A long wait but understandable

September 28, 2024
I had to attend the accident and emergency department at Heartlands Hospital. I had quite a long wait, but the delays are understandable because demand is so high. They looked after me well and I was happy with the treatment I received.

Waiting over 6 hours with heart concerns

September 27, 2024
I spent over 6 hours waiting to be seen in Heartlands Accident and Emergency Department, having attended due to heart problems. During that time I had to sit on a hard chair in pain and distress.

Good emergency care

September 26, 2024
I received very good emergency care and treatment following a serious road traffic accident. I was then admitted to a ward for recovery where care again was good. Basic physiotherapy helped. My only concern was that nothing was put in place or arranged for my recovery post discharge.

Cardiac rehabilitation has been amazing but wish it came sooner

September 25, 2024
After having stents fitted I was referred for assessment for cardiac rehabilitation which has been great so far. The staff have been amazing and I only wish I’d been referred for this sooner when I had my first cardiac event in 2008. This would have helped me to stay active and not be so frightened to move which led to an increase in weight, reduced lifestyle and 16 years later having stents fitted. What worries me is what happens to patients who are not assessed for this activity and what is the criteria used to decide who has cardiac rehabilitation and who doesn’t!
