Waiting time
September 7, 2022
Long waiting time to see the consultant. Had to wait for another 2 hours for to see the nurse for admission.
Had to chase for hip scan for my newborn
September 1, 2022
Had a checkup with the midwife at the hospital when my son was born. They had advised that i see my GP with concerns regarding my sons hip.
GP referred my son for scan at 6 weeks old. I had to chase 4 times and when my son will be 5.5 months, I have managed to get an appointment for 1st September. Really unhappy on waiting time. The letter I received said the hip issue for my son had to be solved by the time the baby is 8 weeks old.

Father died at Heartlands and staff were very good. Very respectful, gave me a room on my own, tea and biscuits.
Bad experience of care at Heartlands A&E

Couple of years ago, I went in for pain the left side of Kidney. I was feeling sick. It was 7:00 am in the morning when I called for an ambulance. They came at 2pm. The ambulance service was alright and I was taken into Heartlands hospital. I had to wait a while before i was seen and when I was seen the consultant did not really know what was the problem. I just received an x-ray and at 5pm i was discharged from the hospital. No medication was provided and no thorough assessment took place.
Rang a friend as I was still in pain and explained the situation. They contacted my brother and advised him to take me to Walsgrave hospital as my condition had not been addressed and was getting worse.
My brother came and took me to Walsgrave A&E, Had to wait 3/4 hours again in the hospital for what turned out to be a severe kidney infection.
Heartlands had said it was nothing and didn't really do much for me.

I had been taken into hospital by my partner with COVID. When I got to the hospital there was about 30 ambulances waiting outside so I could not understand why they could not send someone. From a home test which I had done, my oxygen level had gone down.
I had got to the hospital in my dressing down gasping for breathe.
There was 3 staff in the department who were not serving anyone, however I had to still wait for 25 minutes before someone attended to me to advise that someone would be with me soon. When I got called in for an assessment I told the nurse I have COVID. The nurse said "What are you doing here, you shouldn't be in this bit?"
She did another test, took me through to another A&E part where there was beds. The doctor came very quick. They put me on anti viral drop however I waited 4 hours before I was taken into the infectious & disease ward. I was at the hospital for 8 days. Staff could not be faulted. They went above and beyond. Food provided was exceptional. Quality of care and treatment was good.
The only point I would raise is that no one asked about my mental health and welfare when I was there as there was no support. Some support should have been provided.

I had an issue with my hearing aid. I spoke with my GP who referred me to the heartlands hospital. I have still not heard anything regarding my referral.
Had to in the end go to spec savers for assistance. I suffer from Hearing impairment, COPD, Asthma and Arthritis.

Residents from North Solihull are not treated well. There is difference in treatment compared to South Solihull. There is no provision of healthcare services like the residents in the South Solihull residents.
As resident of North Solihull, we get treated like a dustbin. As residents of North Solihull, there are barriers on the level of health care that is provided to us and the quality of care and service.
I have worked for NHS previously and in the days it was far better and the care was there.
Now no NHS department has any fixed contracts and the health care provision has gone down hill.
Recently was treated for heart condition. I am only just getting follow up appointments now after chasing.
I had stopped taking my medication due to side affects that they were causing and it took a pharmacist to pick up on the issue.
I received 3 scans whilst I was there. I received MRI scan and CT scan when after being discharged but since then no further follow ups.

I was sent to the consultant by my GP for an urgent surgery. The consultant told me that my condition was not urgent in his opinion and its been 8 months and still not scheduled date. Last month I paid a private consultant and I have been referred to a private clinic for my surgery.

Hospital did not look at my mums files to understand that she had dementia. They were completely unaware of her health condition. They left her alone and she fell multiple times in their care in the hospital. I wanted to see her and I was never allowed to. My mum was not being taken care of. She left the hospital with multiply scars.
