Poor care in A&E

October 12, 2023
I attended A&E in severe pain. The level of care was awful and I was just told that as you get older you get unexplained pain. I do not feel that I was examined thoroughly and they were unwilling to investigate my symptoms. Very disappointing that just because of my age they expect me to accept it and suffer.

Treated well by A&E and ward 19

October 11, 2023
I attended A&E but was quickly sent to the assessment ward, ward 19. The staff were golden. They were clearly rushed off their feet but they were so kind and took good care of me. After being fully assessed I was sent home.

Communication could be clearer

October 11, 2023
I recently received a letter to attend the hospital for an xray. The instructions in the letter were very unclear and I had to seek assistance from a family member to help me. They too also struggled with the unclear instructions.

Long waiting times for appointments

October 11, 2023
I have attended a number of appointments due to experiencing seizures, I have been generally happy with the care but they could improve waiting times, as it can become very frustrating waiting a long time past your appointment time.

Poor aftercare & rehabilitation

October 9, 2023
The aftercare and rehabilitation following an operation was not good. It was clear that bed blocking was taking place too.

Backlog of patients for urgent cancer care

October 9, 2023
I was referred on the urgent cancer pathway but a huge backlog meant that I was not seen within the two week time scale you are supposed to be seen within. The long wait led to serious mental distress and I felt that I had no alternative but to seek private medical care.
