Overall Good

I was admitted for treatment at Heartlands Hospital. Overall, it was a good experience and I received good treatment and care. The only problem was that the ward was very hard to contact which was difficult for my family and friends during my admission.

Emergency Appendix Surgery

My child required emergency surgery for appendicitis. At the time I was not completely happy with the care and experience, but looking back it all went ok and they received the appropriate treatment. I feel there is room for improvement in patient/relative care, in particular, communication between the staff and how they relay information to patients and their relatives could be better.

Excellent Diabetic Clinic

Have received excellent care and support from the diabetic clinic. The weight management team have also been fantastic in supporting me improve my health.

Outpatients appointment waiting times

Waited months for the appointment but satisfied with the care received once it finally came through. A referral was made for an MRI and I was very pleased with how quickly that appointment has come through.

Been waiting since Feb 2022 for COPD clinic

I have been waiting since February 2022 for an appointment. One was arranged for December 2022 but that was cancelled. This appointment has been rescheduled for March 2023. Just hope this appointment goes ahead as I will have been waiting for over a year.

Waited over 12 months for ENT referral

I had an outpatient appointment at the ENT department in December 22 after waiting for over 12 months. I had a very worrying time waiting for the appointment and nearly 2 months on I'm still waiting for the results. The staff were okay when I did finally get an appointment.

Not waiting too long

I was very happy with my recent visit. I was expecting to be waiting for hours with what you see and hear on the news. I wasn't waiting too long and the staff were lovely and really looked after me.

Excellent care whilst critically ill

I spent 7 months in Heartlands. I was critically ill and I was lucky to survive. I was treated for sepsis, acute liver failure and gangrene. The care was outstanding and the nurses were wonderful. They were not just a support to me in my recovery but for my family too.

Good care but poor sleep and little rest

I collapsed and was admitted to Heartlands Hospital for a week. The care was good the staff were friendly and did their job the best they could. The only complaint I have is that there was not a proper hospital bed for me to sleep on and I spent a week on a trolley bed which was very uncomfortable and not really suitable for a long stay. I didn't sleep well at all.
