Long wait and poor service

April 27, 2023
Had to be admitted to a ward but a shortage of beds left me waiting for a really long time. When they eventually found me a bed there were no sheets or bedding and again I had a long wait for this to be sorted out.

Seen quickly in A&E

April 25, 2023
I had to go to A&E with a suspected fracture. I was seen quickly and sent for an x-ray. Luckily I had not broken anything. I was not there long before I was sent home.

Generally okay long way to go

The emergency department is very far away. Feel like we have to pass Solihull to go to Heartlands which does not make sense.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your patient experience at Heartlands Hospital. We are sorry that you have had such a long way to travel to be seen.

We are very pleased to inform you that in June 2023 the MIU will be opening again and in addition to this service there will also be a minor illnesses service which will be provided by a local primary care provider (GPs) and this collaboration will mean that the two services will be opened in June as the Solihull Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC).

The UTC will provide a much needed urgent care service – supporting with minor illnesses and injuries - for the residents of Solihull.

I hope this information will offer some help to you.

Lack of care for elderly patients

My nan was recently admitted to Heartlands because she was unwell. Our family felt that she did not receive the attention and care she needed whilst she was in there.

Good service but have to chase appointments

April 21, 2023
I attend the diabetic clinic regularly. The service and care experienced here is very good. The let down is that I regularly have to chase up appointments. Staff are very nice although it is apparent that they are clearly understaffed and very very busy.

Long wait & have to chase appointments

April 21, 2023
I attend a diabetic clinic, but appointments can be difficult to get. I am supposed to attend on a regular basis but have to continually chase them up. Through the service here diabetic equipment was ordered and sent to my home but I now have to wait 3-4 months for an appointment for them to demonstrate and discuss with me how this equipment should be used. It is incredibly frustrating.
