Very Good Oncology Care

Good care but long wait in A&E

The staff were nice and friendly but could be more understanding at the patients frustrations when they are sat waiting for hours and hours in a busy waiting room. We waited such a long time it was not a nice experience.

Children's A&E was awful

The waiting times were awful. It was very busy with not enough room for patients and parents to sit down. The area is very small too with all the patients on top of each other, which was a concern when we were there. Once you see a doctor the care is good but the wait with a young child really was the worst experience.

Such a long wait in A&E

Not a nice experience at all. We waited hours to be seen. The waiting room is not a nice environment to be stuck in when your unwell and in pain.

A&E very busy and understaffed

May 10, 2023
After being brought in by ambulance I was seen very quickly by nursing staff. I waited for 12 hours for a bed. Although nurses did check on me throughout that time they were very busy and a nurse even apologised and explained that the department was short staffed. The staff treated me wonderfully and really put me at ease. We were told that there was coffee, tea and water available but the coffee and tea had run out. I was provided with food which was ok.

Admitted, diagnosed & treated quickly

I was sent by my GP practice and had a letter from them meaning that I could by-pass the accident and emergency department. I was quickly seen and admitted for treatment. I spent 3 days in hospital and the care received was very good. There were no problems at all.

Excellent care in surgical assessment ward

May 5, 2023
I was admitted to the surgical assessment ward via a telephone triage appointment with a paramedic. The case was outstanding. Just how poorly I was was quickly picked up on and I was transferred to another ward for treatment quickly.

Fantastic treatment and care on Ward 26

May 5, 2023
I was admitted 8 days ago with Sepsis. Ward 26 has been fantastic. Its the best ward (aesthetically) I have seen. The staff are so different in the care they provide. Lizzie goes and above and beyond with the help and care she provides. This stay has been really really good. It has been a fantastic experience and the staff deserve the world I really cannot thank them enough.
