Felt well looked after in maternity

Very good care from maternity. The staff are friendly, well informed and communicate well. I have always been seen for appointments on time.

I have had a very good experience here so far. The hospital is easy for me to get to and the staff are very good. I would like to receive the rest of my maternity care here.
Lack of communication between staff

I visited Heartlands for a C-section and the lack of staffing meant that I was waiting a long time for pain medication and dressing. There seemed to be a lack of communication between staff which led to a lot of confusion.

Good maternity care

My experience has been good, I was seen on time and the staff were very supportive and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable asking questions and the communication from the staff was good.
Great, reassuring staff in maternity

Everything went fine with my early assessment. The staff were great and were very reassuring. I am satisfied with the care I was given.
Sent home because there were no beds

My experience was awful. I had an 18 hour wait to be told that they did want to keep me in but were sending me home because there were no beds.
Lack of personable care

I spent four days as a patient at Heartlands hospital. The care I received was good but compared with the care at other UHB hospitals I do think that my experience could have been better. They lack the personable care that I have received elsewhere. This could be because the hospital felt much busier and maybe the staff just did not have the time to provide that service.
