Awful A&E experience
July 26, 2024
The wait for care at Heartlands A&E department is just awful. I went at 1pm and did not get a bed until 7am the next morning. While waiting I spent hours cold, hungry and with nowhere to sleep. I asked if there were any pillows or blankets only to be told there were none. It has got to be one of the worst A&E departments in the country!
Good early pregnancy unit but too crowded
July 23, 2024
This hospital is too crowded. The early pregnancy unit is good and the staff are fine but I don't want to give birth here.
Great midwives in foetal medicine
July 23, 2024
I have visited the foetal medicine service at this hospital a number of times recently. The midwives have been great.
Good experience in maternity

My experience here was good. I was seen quickly and the staff were nice.
Excellent consultant led care
June 28, 2024
I am under consultant led care for a rare condition. They have been fantastic. I attend every 6 months for check ups and have an MRI every year. I feel well cared for, very reassured and the quality of treatment I receive is excellent.
The midwife would not listen to me
June 28, 2024
My labour and delivery experience was not great. The midwife was slow and did not listen to me. She spent too long on the computer and did not listen to me when I said the baby was about to be born. He was born quickly and the birth was missed by the midwife without the correct things in place for delivery.
Refused treatment in A&E
June 26, 2024
When I visited A&E at this hospital they told me that I needed a GP referral for my issue and wouldn't treat me. I ended up having to go back to China for treatment as I could not handle the NHS wait times.
Very long wait to be treated in 30 minutes
June 26, 2024
I waited for 9 and a half hours to see a doctor in A&E for treatment to take just half an hour when I was eventually seen. The care was good but the wait was far too long.
Inpatient physio not good enough
June 26, 2024
The in-patient physio team need to spend more time with patients before they are discharged. After hip surgery to repair a broken hip my parent only received one short session of physio a day. They got them standing each day but they were classed as mobile when they could not even walk. Based off the physio report they were discharged when they were clearly not ready to be.
Great endocrinology service

The endocrinology department at this hospital provides a great service.
