Very happy with the care provided

January 9, 2024
I have been very happy with the care my mum has received here. She has been admitted and had to attend a number of appointments, following a number of bad falls. I cannot fault the service we have received.

Inexperienced surgeon led to errors made

January 5, 2024
I had an operation carried out and an inexperienced surgeon caused a perforation. It was rectified, but led to a delay in my recovery, and I was in hospital for an extra three weeks. My experience was not very good.

Over 9 hours waiting in A&E

January 5, 2024
I attended A&E with severe back pain and barely able to walk. I spent over 9 hours sitting on a hard chair waiting to be seen. I was given an x-ray and sent home with pain killers. The experience was awful.

Discharged with no follow on care plan

January 5, 2024
I was discharged from ward 14 without a care plan in place. I had life changing surgery and complex medical needs. There is nothing in place to support me and my family. My wife is having to care for me, and chase services for help and assessments, for which there is a wait of over 6 weeks.

Care from the diabetes clinic is okay

January 4, 2024
I attend the diabetes clinic every three months. The service and care I receive is okay. They are working with me to try and manage my condition by finding the right medication. At times there are long waiting times to be seen, if this improved my experience would be better.

Good care but medication problems

January 3, 2024
I was admitted to the hospital and while the care was good, all my medication was taken off me and there was a delay in being given the medication that I need to take daily. It was quite stressful.

I have only seen my cardiac consultant once in the four years since my diagnosis. The care is not great, I feel like I am being left to manage on my own.
