Poor communication & rude staff

April 16, 2024
The communication at the hospital is poor, on two separate occasions my husband was moved and I was not informed. It was very worrying turning up to visit him and there was someone else in his bed. As you can imagine for a moment you fear the worst! A doctor on Ward 8 treated me very rudely. He spoke over me and directed the information to my son, this happened on more than one occasion and we had to point out that as husband and wife I am my husbands next of kin and that information needs to be directed to me.

Wonderful care on Ward 28

April 15, 2024
My husband has been very well cared for on Ward 28 at Heartlands hospital. Every test possible was carried out but so far they have been unable to make a diagnosis. The staff are very kind and attentive to my husband and have ensured that he remains comfortable. The level of care and support has been outstanding.

My experience was very good. I found the staff very friendly and professional. I was brought in by ambulance for emergency treatment. Treatment was administered quickly and the staff were great. They really looked after my relatives and reassured them that I would be ok.

5 hour wait in the medical assessment unit

April 11, 2024
I had a 5 hour wait to be seen on the medical assessment unit. A number of tests were carried out including a CT Scan and x-ray. My canula was pulled out in the corridor which I did not think was great practice. On the whole my experience was okay and would have been better if the waiting times were not so long.

12 hour wait in a dirty department

April 11, 2024
I attended A&E at Heartlands Hospital but was quickly redirected to the Badger Clinic. There I had an awful experience. The department was dirty with rubbish everywhere. After a 12 hour wait, the staff did nothing and I was given painkillers and sent home.
