Ward 31 was great

November 24, 2023
I was admitted to the hospital for 8 days. I spent time on wards 20, 21, 23 and finally ward 31, where I spent the majority of my stay. The ward was great, there were no tv's or internet and I felt like I was properly able to recover. The staff were nice and friendly. The nurses were fantastic.

Chaotic environment & awful experience

November 24, 2023
I attended at 2pm for my child's appointment. We did not leave until 9pm! The hospital was chaotic, and I was appalled at the length of time we waited and how late we left. Our experience was awful!

Good care but awful food

November 21, 2023
I was in hospital for over 2 weeks. The care on ward 30 was very good, but the food was awful. I did not eat a thing while I was there. My husband stayed with me every day and night to help care for me, the hospital did not provide him with anything to sleep on. He is disabled and unwell himself. They did get him a padded chair but took that off him for an elderly patient.

Bedbound patient just left in room alone

November 21, 2023
My mother in law has been an inpatient for over two weeks for ongoing treatment. My concern is that she is in a side room with poor facilities. She is bedbound, unable to walk, with limited use of her arms. It may sound trivial but she has no tv in the room and apart from having family visitors she is left alone in a quiet room. I am concerned that this is hindering her progress and concerned about her mental wellbeing.

Frustrated by administrative errors

November 21, 2023
I have had to attend a few appointments here. For one appointment the hospital called me to cancel and re-arrange the appointment. At the next appointment I was told off for not attending my appointment and I was told that my records had me down as a 'DNA'. I was not happy about this and told them what had happened. These administrative errors are frustrating and distressing. My appointments have gone well, but it is normal for the clinics to be running behind. I do understand that emergencies happen but long waits are not ideal.

Made experience special for disabled child

November 21, 2023
My disabled child had to have eye correction surgery. All staff members from HCA's to the consultant were excellent. They really took the time to ensure my child felt safe and happy, they made the experience very special for them.

Admitted and finally got a diagnosis

November 21, 2023
I was admitted to hospital and received a diagnosis for a rare medical condition. I was very happy with the quality of care and treatment, and was so relieved to have answers after being ignored by my GP for five years. The hospital were very thorough in their testing, and offered great support.
