Awful gynaecology experience

My experience was awful, the consultant lacked kindness and empathy. The examination was extremely painful but I received little empathy, and was told it was because of the angle of my uterus. I was simply told there was nothing they could do and that I should speak to my GP about HRT.

Awful, I avoid at all costs!

My experiences at Heartlands Hospital have been awful, and I try to avoid going there. Waiting times for appointments are bad, and you do not get the level of care you should. This is not the fault of the staff, they are clearly understaffed and rushed off their feet.

Over 10 hour wait in maternity triage

I waited over ten and a half hours to be seen by a doctor/consultant in the maternity triage department. The staff were good, just clearly very under staffed.

The allergy clinic is very good

I have telephone appointments with the allergy clinic every three months. I have been very happy with the service. They have been very good.

Not seen in person since before the pandemic

Before the covid pandemic I would have routine appointments with a epilepsy nurse and/or my consultant. Since the covid 19 pandemic I have not been seen in person. I do have regular telephone check ups with the epilepsy nurse, but I have not spoken to my consultant. The nurse acts as a 'go between'. I experience lots of seizures but have just had to learn to deal with them and notify the nurse about the frequency of them during our telephone consultations. I am hoping that I am seen in person soon, as I think that my medication needs adjusting and/or changing, due to an increase in seizures.

Happy with good level of care

I care for my elderly parent who has COPD. I have to take them to regular appointments at Heartlands. We usually experience a lengthy wait to be seen but the level of care is very good.

Quite a wait but happy with treatment

I attended A&E, despite a lengthy wait I was very happy with the care I received. The nurses were lovely and the doctors were very thorough. I was treated and sent home.

Excellent cardiology team

We had a long wait but the level of treatment and care in the cardiology department was amazing. My husband has dementia and they were fantastic with him, they treated us with kindness and great care. They were outstanding.
