Excellent service after a long wait

Dermatology
April 4, 2024
I had an 18 month wait to be treated for Basal Cell Carcinoma, we did know it was non-malignant so it was not urgent but the wait was still a bit of a worry. Once I got my appointment through everything happened very quickly, and I was very happy with the care and treatment I received.

Excellent hospital but parking is a nightmare

Cancer services
April 4, 2024
I have been receiving breast cancer treatment for the past two years at Solihull Hospital. I have regular appointments and check ups and I am being successfully treated with oral medication/chemotherapy tablets. I have a learning disability and the staff have been superb. The only problem we have is parking, there are never any disabled parking bays free and we struggle to find a space in the normal car park too.

A really great experience

A really great experience. When arriving at reception there was no queue and I was immediately met by a volunteer who took me to the right department. I did not wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. Thank you!

Disorganised booking in system

Outpatients
April 3, 2024
My experience was not great due to a long wait queueing at reception. I was then told to go down to the department and book in there. When I got there I was told that the system was down and that I needed to go back to the main reception to book in. There was lots of back and forth, and it was quite stressful. Despite not having a great start to my experience my appointment did go well.

Happy with face to face neurology appointment

March 21, 2024
I have been under the neurology team for a few years for epilepsy. During covid the appointments were all over the phone which I was not very happy with. I have just had my second face to face review since the end of the pandemic. I am generally happy with the care that I receive, but appointments have mainly been with a nurse and not my consultant.
