Poor communication in general

The communication from this service is poor. I regularly have to chase up appointments because I've not heard anything.

This service has been good to me and I have never had any problems. They are always asking for feedback and send a link to provide it. When I didn't speak as much English they helped me by providing a translator but I no longer need them.

Luckily I don't need to visit the practice much. What I do find frustrating is the phone lines. I was in the queue (during an afternoon) for 11 mins where I was position 4 the whole time. Then after 11mins and 22 seconds my call disconnects so I drove to the surgery to find it empty, no person in view on the phone lines and when mentioned to the receptionist she seemed surprised at my comments. The service I receive, overall is positive (hardly any issues) it's just accessing the practice in the first instance.

Croft medical centre is a lovely surgery, modern, bright and very new and clean. The medical centre is always empty and it seems to be under used. Getting an appointment has got better but it can be uncomfortable having to divulge all your personal details and symptoms over the telephone. My most recent appointment was with a physician's assistant and they were very good, and I was happy with the outcome of that appointment.

My experience of Croft Medical Centre is very good. Appointments are now much easier to access with the new triage system in place. The doctors are good, and I am very happy with the level of care provided.

Recent improvements to accessing appointments has been excellent. I can always get an appointment when I need one now. Their call back option is great and the triage system is working well. Keep it up!

The asthma nurse here provides very good care. She has been very helpful in helping me get the medication I need to manage my condition.

Wrong diagnosis made in telephone appointment

It is difficult to make an appointment and on occasions they have said that someone would call me back and they have not. I had a telephone consultation with a doctor and was diagnosed with 'housemaids knee', and issued with a prescription. After a few weeks the symptoms had not cleared up. I got an appointment with a nurse clinician who queried how a diagnosis had been made on the telephone. I was referred for an x-ray and was eventually diagnosed with arthritis and knee damage.
