Not the greatest NHS service

Called 999 as no out of hours help. Nothing at the clinic, Solihull Mind closes at 11pm. So phoned 999. I am Desperate for help and they would send an ambulance in 5 hours time.
After which they would send me home and I would have to get a taxi or they would offer a bus ticket but because of my illness it makes me scared of travelling on the bus.

Advised to self drive to hospital

Rang for ambulance at the middle of night at 4am due to difficulties with breathing which I was experiencing. I had covid which was getting worse. I waited and no one arrived. An hour later I received a call from the staff advising me to self drive to Heartlands hospital.
I had to be taken into the hospital in Heartlands in the car. My husband was not able to come inside the building and could only drop me off outside which he should have been allowed due to my disabilities.
During the process I was kept informed, staff were fine and courteous.
