Excellent service & outstanding paramedics

An ambulance was called as I was experiencing stroke symptoms. The ambulance arrived quickly and the paramedics were excellent taking great care of me from the point of arrival to my admission to hospital.

8 hour wait for an ambulance

I rang for an ambulance because I was feeling really unwell and just knew that something was not right. I was told that there was an 8 hour wait and that I should make my own way to A&E. I really did not feel well enough to make my own way there and when my symptoms deteriorated further I called 999 again. This time they gave me a telephone triage appointment with a paramedic but would still not send an ambulance. Long story short I had sepsis and have been very seriously ill. Lack of ambulances is not a good service and this was a bad experience.

An ambulance was called as I was really unwell. We were told that they were really busy at the moment and that there was no ambulance available to attend. They said that they could send one out the following day which was of no use because medical assistance was needed straight away.

Speedy response and excellent care

Ambulance arrived very quickly after symptoms were explained. On arrival I was quickly assessed and treated for anaphylactic shock. This was a very scary incident that I have never experienced before. The paramedics were fantastic in treating me and reassuring me.

Arrived quickly for my child's asthma attack

Was worried about waiting times because of what has been in the media recently. Had to call for an ambulance when my young child had breathing difficulties. The ambulance arrived quickly, treating my child and rushed us to hospital. The staff were fantastic and were with us within minutes.

Suspected stroke but 7 hour wait

My relative. aged 71, suffered a stroke and we called for an ambulance. We were told there was a 7 hour wait and that we should take them to the Accident and Emergency at the Queen Elizabeth hospital ourselves. This was obviously a very difficult situation we were extremely concerned that their condition could deteriorate on route to the hospital which was a good 30 minute drive away. An appalling service really my relative should have had access to urgent medial treatment straight away.

Live in Solihull but taken to Warwick

I was taken ill at work (I work in Solihull hospital). I was taken by ambulance to Warwick hospital. After waiting for over 5 hours I felt ok so I just went home. The paramedics were great but ridiculous that I had to leave Solihull hospital to be taken to Warwick.

Waited for 8 hours for ambulance

Fell out of the buggy and broke my arm and spine and I waited over 8 hours for ambulance on the side pavement.

7 hour wait for 96 yr old with broken hip

An ambulance was called for my neighbour aged 96, he'd had a bad fall and we suspected a broken hip. We waited for seven and a half hours for an ambulance to reach him. Our concerns were correct and he had broken his hip. Appalling service leaving this gentleman on the floor in pain for such a long period of time. The shock alone could have killed him. Once the ambulance arrived the care was outstanding and the paramedics were excellent. It is awful that the system is putting their staff into situations where they are attending to patients who have been waiting unreasonable lengths of time with patients, their friends and families then taking their frustrations out on them.
