Really good maternity staff

Maternity services
August 27, 2024
The maternity department here is really good. The staff are very helpful and take the time to answer my questions. Scans can sometimes be nerve wracking but the staff are very reassuring and make it a special experience. The sonographers are also great.

I have my regular appointments with the community midwife here rather than at my GP. I have no complaints about the appointments but I have to pay for parking at the hospital.

Excellent rehabilitation care

Physiotherapy
August 23, 2024
I was admitted to Solihull Hospital for rehabilitation care following an operation at Heartlands Hospital. The staff, nurses and physio team at Solihull Hospital were excellent. They took great care of me, and got me back on my feet. The physio team were helpful and encouraging, and took their time explaining exercises and how to safely move around. I was discharged after a week and I cannot fault the care I received during that time.

Waiting for a gastroenterology appointment

August 23, 2024
I was referred for a gastroenterology by my GP over three months ago. I received a letter from Solihull Hospital stating that they have received the referral but I have not heard anything since. My symptoms are very unpleasant and are affecting my quality of life, I thought being an urgent appointment I would have had an appointment or date through by now.

Still waiting for operation 13 months later

Gynaecology
August 22, 2024
I had a follow up gynaecology appointment after being seen at another UHB hospital. I had all the same tests repeated and was told that I did need an operation but that they were not sure if it would be at Solihull or another UHB hospital. Over 13 months later I have not heard anything at all about my operation.

We need an Accident & Emergency Department!

July 26, 2024
Why have they still not re-opened the Accident & Emergency Department at Solihull Hospital? We need one in Solihull. Heartlands cannot cope with demand and the QE and Good Hope are miles away! It is very concerning with more and more people going out of the area into Coventry and Warwickshire to get emergency treatment, which again is still not close! There is a lack of care for the ageing community in my opinion!
