NHS 111

Although there was a doctors strike on the service kept in touch to advise that we were hours away from a call back. They were extremely busy.

I contacted this service on the morning of Christmas eve, because my 10 year old had been unwell and I could see she had tonsillitis and needed antibiotics. I was told by the operator that there was a 12 hour delay for a call back from a doctor, and they could not fit us in anywhere to see a doctor. I finally got a call back 11 hours later and luckily a pharmacy was open for us to collect a prescription. The service obviously could not cope with demand and there needs to be improvements made for times that they know they will be busy.

We contacted this service for advice regarding my elderly father who has dementia. They were very thorough in their questions and advised that he needed to be seen by a paramedic. They made arrangements for one to attend.

I recently tried to access medical advice on four occasions, and was not satisfied with the service at all.

I find this service very useful. I have recently had to call them when I could not get a GP appointment. They were very helpful and were able to get me an appointment with a GP.

I contacted NHS 111 because I was unable to get a GP appointment. The service was very good, after speaking with a doctor they made an appointment for me to attend the accident and emergency department at Heartlands Hospital.

I had to call 111 after failing to get a GP appointment for my young son. They were very helpful and booked an appointment for us at the urgent treatment centre at Solihull Hospital.

After numerous attempts to get a doctors appointment for worrying symptoms I contacted NHS111. They were absolutely fantastic. I explained the situation to them and told them about my symptoms, and after speaking to a doctor they referred me straight to the hospital. I credit this service for getting me the help I needed, as I was finally examined and diagnosed with bowel cancer.

I called 111 for advice after not being able to get a doctors appointment. They were very helpful and advised that I needed an ambulance to be sent. They arranged for the ambulance to attend. I was happy with the service I received.
