Admitted, diagnosed & treated quickly

May 9, 2023
I was sent by my GP practice and had a letter from them meaning that I could by-pass the accident and emergency department. I was quickly seen and admitted for treatment. I spent 3 days in hospital and the care received was very good. There were no problems at all.

Excellent care in surgical assessment ward

May 5, 2023
I was admitted to the surgical assessment ward via a telephone triage appointment with a paramedic. The case was outstanding. Just how poorly I was was quickly picked up on and I was transferred to another ward for treatment quickly.

Fantastic treatment and care on Ward 26

May 5, 2023
I was admitted 8 days ago with Sepsis. Ward 26 has been fantastic. Its the best ward (aesthetically) I have seen. The staff are so different in the care they provide. Lizzie goes and above and beyond with the help and care she provides. This stay has been really really good. It has been a fantastic experience and the staff deserve the world I really cannot thank them enough.

Waiting 8 hours in Children's A&E

May 5, 2023
I took my 2 year old to A&E, they were generally very unwell and was experiencing breathing difficulties. They also have additional medical and learning needs. We waited for over 8 hours to be seen by a doctor. Not good experience at all.

6 hour wait in Childrens A&E

May 5, 2023
Took my 6 year old, who has additional needs, to children's A&E department with a high temperature and breathing difficulties. We waited 6 hours to see the doctor. The wait was just awful and children should not be waiting such a long time to see a doctor. This was not a good experience.

Blood in stools but sent away - Childrens A&E

May 3, 2023
My baby had blood in their stools so I attended the children's A&E department. We were seen and sent away with lactulose. We were told that there was no one available to follow up with results so no tests were undertaken. I was not happy at all with the care received and that my baby's symptoms were not investigated properly.

Poor experience & poor practice

April 28, 2023
My grandfather was not well cared for by the staff here. He was admitted following a Stroke. He did not get the attention and care he needed an example of this was the poor practice in personal care and leaving him in a soiled pad for over 6 hours.

Difficult waiting alone when you are unwell

April 28, 2023
I was unable to get a doctors appointment so had to attend the hospital. At the time only patients/service users were allowed to wait. It was very difficult being on my own and waiting for such a long time when I was really ill.
