Very good but procedure was delayed

The gynaecology department are very good but they only carry out the procedure I needed under anaesthetic and you need to stay in all day. Other hospitals just do it during appointments and there is no waiting around. There was also a mix up meaning I was waiting 12 months for this procedure. I called them and the receptionist was quite abrupt but put me back on the waiting list.

Parking issues meant I missed appointment

Good level of inpatient care

I have been admitted to Good Hope Hospital and been treated for cardiac arrest and sepsis. I have been very happy with the treatment and care provided. They have saved my life.

Very good cardiac appointments

I visit the cardiology department for pacemaker check ups every 6 months and they are very good. They upgraded my pacemaker and set up and app on my phone to monitor it which is fabulous.

Excellent Stroke Services

I was admitted to Good Hope Hospital following a stroke. All the staff were great. I was treated well and they helped me get back on my feet. I was discharged after a few weeks and they made sure things were in place for when I went home.

Maternity care is very good

The maternity care here is very good. I planned to have my baby here but I had to move to Heartlands for an elective C-section.

Long waiting time for gynae treatment

I was referred to gynaecology outpatients at Good Hope Hospital for an initial appointment. I was happy with the care received but over a year later I am still waiting for treatment.

I waited hours and hours to be seen in A&E

My experience of A&E was awful, I waited for hours and hours. I went here thinking that it would be better than Heartlands but had no such luck.

Dismissive staff with a lack of compassion

I was advised by NHS 111 to attend the accident and emergency department with severe facial swelling to rule out sepsis. When I attended the accident and emergency department at Good Hope Hospital the staff were rude, dismissive and had a complete lack of empathy. I explained that I had been told to attend by NHS 111, but they did not care. I had to beg for them to at the very least do my OBS, they did my OBS and told me that there were signs of infection and sent me on my way. My experience was awful.
