Excellent treatment and care

July 13, 2023
I was rushed in by ambulance. I was quickly assessed and treated. I underwent emergency surgery and had a pace maker fitted. The care from the staff was wonderful and ongoing care has been excellent.

Operation cancelled at very last minute

I have been waiting a very long time for a knee replacement operation. I had attended numerous appointments, been for my pre op and seen 3 different doctors. On the day of the operation I was gowned up and ready to go but it was cancelled and I was told that I was now considered high risk. I will be reassessed in 3 months time but I was very disappointed and not happy with the service at all. Feel like the past few months had been a complete waste of my time and the time of the staff too.

The new midwife led unit is excellent

The new unit is really great, the staff are all very nice. The midwives are lovely, they keep me well informed and I feel reassured in their care.

Bone Density Scan

Very good service, nice clean and bright hospital setting with good clean facilities. Parking is a bit tricky but to be expected at a busy hospital.

Well organised with good facilities

Attending as an outpatient for appointments I have found that services are well organised and run smoothly when compared to appointments I have attended at UHB Heartlands. The facilities are much nicer and the hospital has good levels of cleanliness and hygiene.

Bright, clean and nice environment

Visiting the gynaecology department at Good Hope hospital was a much more pleasant experience than that at Heartlands hospital. The building is clean, bright and easy to find. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I was happy with the service and care I received during my appointment.

Staff could have been kinder

I was rushed in as an emergency after falling unwell following a colonoscopy at another hospital that lacked and emergency department. I was looked after but I do not think that the staff were as kind as they could have been in how they cared for me.

Excellent experience in maternity unit

As a first time mom not quite knowing what to expect my overall experience was very good. My labor and delivery went well and I felt well looked after and reassured throughout. The midwives were great.

Poor A&E experience

Was brought in by ambulance but there seemed to be no handover in care. Instead of looking over notes from the paramedics I had to start all over again explaining what had happened. This seemed to waste time and was frustrating for me having to recount all the details again when I was feeling so unwell.
