UHB Good Hope Hospital

I was admitted to Good Hope Hospital with diabetes related issues. When I was discharged the wrong medication was written on my discharge paperwork. I found this very confusing as I already find it hard to manage my medication on my own. The details need to be correct for myself and my GP for ongoing care. Communication between the services is poor, and it was a lot of hassle getting the error rectified. I was very disappointed with the service from the hospital.

I feel that they should have done more during my cancer treatment.

I have been waiting over 12 months for a hysterectomy. I have contacted the hospital to be told that it will be at least another 12 months until I am near the top of the waiting list. I appreciate that other people need the operation more urgently due to life threatening conditions such as cancer but my quality of life and health is being seriously impacted due to my condition, and the thought of waiting another year or longer is very concerning. I am struggling to live my normal daily life and I am also a carer and my condition is seriously affecting my ability to meet the needs of my cared for person.

I recently attended my pace maker check up appointment at Good Hope Hospital. The appointment went well, the doctors and nurses are very friendly. My only difficulty is getting there. The bus journey is ok but takes an hour. The walk to the department from the bus stop is very long and a struggle for me. There is a new restaurant at the hospital which is very nice, I was very impressed with it.

I attended Good Hope Hospital for a steroid injection. The staff were great and the appointment went well, I had waited months for the appointment though which was disappointing. The hospital itself is bright and clean and there was a great outdoor market at the hospital on the day that I visited which was nice.

I recently had day surgery at Good Hope Hospital. The procedure went very well. I was in and out a lot quicker than expected. The staff were great.

My ulcerative colitis consultant at Good Hope Hospital is very good, but I had not seen them in over two years.

My experience of the A&E department at Good Hope Hospital has been poor. I have a life long condition that leaves me in severe pain. Waiting times are far too long and I have spent hours waiting for treatment in absolute agony.

They are absolutely brilliant. When I had my pacemaker fitted they provided excellent care and the food was also excellent.

I visited Good Hope hospital for cataract removal and everything went well.
