Difficult to get appointment
October 21, 2022
For myself it not a problem because I do not need the service, but for my 86-year-old mother, it's hard for her to get through when she needs to see the doctor. I have had to be harsh and use bad language with the receptionist which is not the right thing to do but I feel frustrated when Doctors say they will call, and they never do.
Good improvement in care received

At the start of my cancer treatment, the GP was not very helpful, I was supported by cancer charities. I assumed that the GP was aware of my health condition but every time I called for something, I had to narrate my situation to the person on the phone. It was very frustrating. But they have improved a lot now and I am quite happy.
No support

I have mental health anxieties and long term health conditions, because I am young, I don't get the full attention I need from the GP. They rush to speak with me on the phone and they don't give me the chance to express myself.
Great level of care and service at the GP

When ever we call we get appointments very quickly.
Sees a Dr. called Wahlid Zaffar.
He always provides information, treat us very well and guides well.
He only comes on Thursdays, once a week.
Receptionists are polite. I go early to the surgery to get face to face appointment.
I don't phone for appointments due to language barrier and with no interpreter service.
Prescriptions are sent directly to the pharmacy for me.
I contacted for blood test. The appointment availability was after 15 days.
I have asthma but this is controlled through my medication.

Waiting to see the doctor and medication

The time scale to see a doctor has expanded a lot, it has been 3 years since I saw a doctor face to face. My problem also the fact that we the patients are being treated like a burden on the government. The response I get from the reception sound negative and with no empathy.
Good improvement

My blood test results have finally been sent to me at home without me going there to check.

Receptionist was unhelpful

Receptionist are soo rude and unhelpful, they will ask many questions which sometimes it sounds inappropriate. They will ask personal questions before deciding on weather I get to see the doctor or not.
Waiting to see the doctor and medication review

I have been diagnosed with depression in 2020 and because of the covid situation I was put on medication. Now I want to start with different therapy and stop taking the meds. My GP is not seeing me and I have requested for a review and I'm still waiting. In the meantime, I have stopped taking the meds as it makes me feel sleepy all day.
Rude receptionist

I am not happy with how the receptionist ask soo many personal questions before deciding on whether I can see the doctor or not. It is not up to the receptionist to make decisions regarding my health. They can be rude and arrogant too.
