UHB Solihull Hospital

My experience of the ophthalmology department at Solihull Hospital has been good. I have to attend every six months. Appointment reminders are sent by text and phone calls, which are very helpful. I am always seen on time and see the doctor as soon as I arrive. Everything has been very good and I have not experienced any issues.

My experience of ENT at Solihull Hospital has been great. I had plastic surgery, this was done as an outpatient and went very well. I have also had follow up appointments which have been great. The staff have been very warm, supportive and helpful throughout the procedure and follow on care.

I am very happy with the service and care received from the pain management team at Solihull Hospital.

My experience of the rheumatology department at Solihull Hospital has been poor. Communication is a real issue. I am unable to contact them and they never return calls when you leave a message. Care has had to be coordinated with my rheumatologist and my oncologist and communication between the departments has seemed poor. With one doctor telling me one thing and the other telling me another. There have been long delays for planned tests and procedures. I dread having anything to do with the rheumatology department.

I have had an number of blood tests and scans at Solihull Hospital as part of monitoring following my cancer treatment. It has been good but communication could be improved as results are given quite basically and a little more information would be useful and reassuring.

My experience of Solihull Hospitals outpatient department has been very good. I recently attended for X-rays and scans. The appointments went well and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I am very happy with the glaucoma treatment I have received here.

My experience visiting for a blood test was excellent. I was in and out quickly.

I had a knee replacement at Solihull Hospital. I found the care good and I received good support on the ward to help my recovery. The discharge process was very long winded. After being told I would be discharged that day it took a very long time to be processed, and for my medication to be provided. It is unfortunate that this cannot be done in a more timely manner to free up hospital beds and get people home quicker.

I was referred here by the oncology team at Heartlands for an urgent CT scan. I was seen quickly following the referral and everything went well.
