No explanation of medication

I have a learning disability and anxiety. The doctor gives me medication but does not explain what it is or why I need to take it. I don't have the confidence to ask. I shouldn't have to ask.
Access to mental health care with GP is difficult
December 12, 2022
My GP is a joke, I can never get any response to any enquiries regarding my mental health. The phone lines are always busy and when I finally get through they tell me to call 111 or go to A&E.
My prescriptions are being lost

I have a repeat medication and for the past months the GP has been forgetting to send it to the pharmacy, I have to phone them every time to remind them and I cannot even get through to speak with anyone. It a nightmare.
Unhelpful with anything

Because of my mental health, the doctors and everyone at the surgery treats me with no respect. The doctor talks down on me and sends me away.
Overall service and care at GP is poor

I tried 2 months to get appointmkent and still have not managed to get one.
When you contact the surgery for an appointment, you are waiting on the phone for 1-2 hours only to be cut off the call and then having to ring back.
It is a bad surgery. Drs are not stable as they are locum Drs.
Receptionists do a good job when you see them face to face. They are hopeless at answering the phones.
When I have managed to get through, you have to go through your concerns over the phone first and then over a video call.
"You have to be literally on your deathbed to be able to see the GP face to face".

Cannot get through
September 28, 2022
Pretty useless, cannot get through to get any appointment, lines are always busy. When my mental health was at it lowest, I had to seek support elsewhere. Local support service helped me through it. Even when I got a referral from the mental health support charity, the GP did not pay any attention to me. Sometimes I feel like the health service is not meant for someone like me.
Harder to get appointments and no triage
September 19, 2022
I see the doctor for my daughter who is 13 yrs old.
I use DR IQ app which helps to get appointments that are available.
Doctors are good and are happy with them.
It is harder to get phone appointments and there is no triage.
If there are any appointments then they do offer call backs to advise.

Waiting time
September 5, 2022
The waiting time on the phone is very long, sometimes it cuts off and I have to start all over again. My mental health has got worse and I get anxiety calling the GP.
GP no longer like the service it used to be

I won't use GP, I wont phone up.
If you can get an appointment your generally okay but getting face to face appointment is impossible.
