SHP - Haslucks Green Medical Centre

The doctors and care I have received has been great, the problem is accessing appointments. The phonelines are hopeless so I come down to the surgery and join the queue long before they open. The queue is always very long and you are still not guaranteed to get an appointment. You are just told to come back the next day. Accessing GP appointments is very frustrating.

They are not too bad, I can get appointments when I need them.

Getting appointments can be difficult but the receptionists are helpful and I can usually get in when I need to. When you do get in the doctors and nurses are very good.

I visited Haslucks Green Surgery to request a PSA test. I explained that although I had no symptoms of prostate cancer I am of a certain age and would like to have the blood test. They were very supportive and helpful and arranged for this to take place. I then received a telephone call from my GP explaining the blood results and inviting me in for an physical examination. They were very helpful and asked if I would prefer to see a male doctor, which I did. On the day of the appointment they asked if I would be willing to allow a training GP who was a young female, to be present during the examination. I did not feel comfortable with this and they were very understanding. The GP then discussed the results and referred me to the hospital for a biopsy.

I recently moved here due to moving house and they have been really good.

I find it hard to get appointments for myself. I had a very complicated pregnancy and it was no easier getting appointments then despite the problems I was facing. You cannot access midwifery care at the surgery and I think that this led to poor communication between the services, and lack of continuity of care at a local level. Care was disappointing.

They are pretty good. I can generally get an appointment here or at another SHP practice. Today I was able to get an urgent appointment for my baby which is good.

The service provided for children is very good. I never have a problem getting an appointment for my baby when he needs one. The doctors are very good.

The doctors are very good and provide a good service when you can get an appointment. I was astounded recently when I could not get an appointment with SHP, but I contacted NHS 111 who booked me an appointment that day at an SHP surgery. How is this system fit for purpose?!
