My wife was cared for at Heartlands Hospital for over 4 months. The care she received was very good. She should not have been in hospital for so long but there were delays in an assessment being done for her to be moved somewhere else for long term care. I cannot fault the staff on the ward who cared for her. I felt confident and reassured that she was safe and in the best place possible for her at that time.

I have had a very good experience of cancer care at Heartlands Hospital. I cannot fault the service I have received. The consultants, doctors and nurses have all been great.

I was waiting so long for my referral appointment following a heart attack that I had to go private.

I try to avoid this hospital because it's awful. The staff aren't very nice and seem to lack compassion. I get that they are under a lot of pressure but kindness goes a long way.

My recent experience at Heartlands Hospital A&E department was good despite the long waiting times. I was triaged quickly by a nurse after presenting with a cardiac symptoms. I was disappointed with how long I had to wait to see a doctor but my visit was during a busy bank holiday weekend so I can appreciate the pressure the department must have been under. I was happy with the care and treatment I received once I saw a doctor.

I didn't get seen by a doctor when I was transferred to the urgent assessment unit. I was seen by a nurse who sent me for blood tests and a CT scan. I spent all day waiting then they told me they were transferring me to a ward because the department was closing. They later told me I needed a procedure. I was taken to the waiting room where I spent the whole night sat in a hard chair. In the morning the doctor came to speak to me. The consultation was not private it was just done in the room with everyone else. He looked at his notes and decided he was going to refer me for an MRI as an outpatient instead of waiting any longer. I had been there for 25 hours in total.

When I arrived at A&E there was a queue of 2-3 people being triaged by a nurse as they arrived. She asked me to smile which I didn't appreciate.

I was admitted overnight on the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU). I was happy with the care I received.
