Only waited 2 hours in A&E
April 17, 2025
I was seen and prescribed medication within 2 hours of arriving at A&E.
Long wait but very thorough
April 17, 2025
Upon arrival at the SDEC they told me it would be a 6 hour wait to be seen. There was an area to make drinks and things but it was really hot and stuffy. I was waiting 3 and a half hours for my blood test results and was seen by 2 different doctors. They were very thorough though and arranged a follow up ECG.
Good communication from orthopaedics consultant
April 17, 2025
I saw an orthopaedics consultant here who was very nice. They explained all of my options and listened to my wishes.
A&E is not great
April 15, 2025
My experience here was terrible. I'm not happy with them in general but A&E especially is not great.

Overall my maternity care here has been okay. The sonographer and midwife are very nice and have communicated well.
Lovely fracture clinic nurse
April 11, 2025
The nurse I saw in the fracture clinic was lovely when applying my cast. I returned a few weeks later to have it removed and the care was acceptable.
A&E system feels unorganised
April 11, 2025
I was waiting in A&E for over 7 hours. The nurses were lovely and brought me a cup of tea and a sandwich. The doctors are fine once you see them but the triage system needs to be improved. There is only one person at the desk and everything feels unorganised. I never cry but I did that day due to the distress it caused me.
No complaints other than parking
April 10, 2025
I haven't been for a couple of years but I had no complaints other than the parking. You're lucky to get a space.
Took good care of me
April 10, 2025
I stayed here as an inpatient for 4 days and they took good care of me. The food was good and they cleaned everything regularly.
Looked after me but gave up my bed for 2 nights
April 10, 2025
I was admitted due to low blood pressure and was in for a week over Christmas and new year. They looked after me well but I spent 2 nights in a chair on the ward as they gave my bed to someone else. I did get my bed back after that though.
