UHB Heartlands Hospital

My experience of Heartlands A&E department was awful. I felt unsafe due to aggressive and abusive patients. The environment was very unpleasant. People were verbally abusing staff and other patients. NHS staff should not have to deal with this and patients should feel comfortable and safe when attending a hospital for emergency care.

The early pregnancy outpatient care I received here was rubbish. After having an early miscarriage the receptionist was arrogant and lacking in compassion. I had to return the next week. Something needs to be done about the staff.

The asthma consultant I see with my child is very good. I have no complaints about them at all.

The oncology team were very thorough and referred me for a CT scan and an MRI due to increased blood cell counts. Since then the ongoing treatment and care here has been excellent.

I was waiting a long time in A&E but that's alright. I was told I had a UTI and was admitted 2 days later for testing.

I was told it would be a 17 hour wait in A&E. I gave up after 5 because I was in too much pain. I went back days later and they did a kidney function test but then just told me to go to my GP.

My hernia operation went wrong and now I'm having to live with the complications.

This hospital is awful. It was unclean and there were people laying across all of the chairs in the hallways.

I was brought to the overnight assessment ward from A&E. I didn't receive much communication from them when I was leaving where they informed me that they had made urgent referrals. I was very pleased about this.

I was waiting quite a while to be seen in A&E but the care was good once I was seen. I was taken to the overnight assessment ward.
