The Castle Practice

I am quite fortunate in that I do not need to come to the doctors very often. They call me in for routine check ups which is a great service. The doctors are helpful and pleasant. Last year I did need to see the physiotherapist twice and those appointments went very well.

The service offered by The Castle Practice is good, but getting an appointment is quite difficult for me because of a hearing impairment. I cannot hear very well over the telephone, and when I try and book online I don't get an appointment. I have to come down to the surgery in person to get an appointment. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but I usually have to wait up to two weeks for an appointment. The doctors are very good once you have the appointment.

The online service is awful, I cannot get an appointment that way, it's difficult to get through on the phone line for appointments too. The only way I manage to get appointments is by attending the surgery at opening times, and even then an appointment is not guaranteed. I have recently been trying to get a medical form signed for my husband so that we can go on holiday and this has proved very difficult and it has been very frustrating. I have to attend for regular blood tests, that service is good, and I have no problems getting appointments for that.

My experience of The Castle Practice has been brilliant. I can always get an appointment via the telephone. The staff are very polite and helpful. The doctors are mostly very good, it is fair to say that I have better rapport with some than others.

I was very concerned about my wife's deterioration in health and was unable to get her to the surgery. The staff were wonderful and arranged a home visit by a GP. The doctor who came out was great, the experience was personable as they knew my wife and about her health problems. They were very thorough and called for an ambulance advising that she needed to go to hospital. I was very happy with the care and attention given to my wife.

The Castle Practice is a good surgery, I have no problems getting an appointment. I am never seen on time though and its normal to be waiting at least 30 minutes past your appointment time. If this improved my experience would be better.

My experience of The Castle Practice is very good. I have no problems getting appointments when I need to see a doctor. The receptionists are very helpful and the doctors are very good. My only concern is the waiting times for appointments. It is rare that you are seen on time and I have experienced long waits of over 30 minutes past my appointment time. I understand that there are delays but if we arrive late we wont be seen so waiting times should be minimal.

I have never experienced any problems getting an appointment with a doctor. It is rare that I need one but when I do my needs are accommodated. My only concern is the wait for blood tests. I have had to wait 3 weeks for a blood test appointment and I feel like it needed to be done sooner.

It is very rare that I need to see the doctor but when I do, I can usually get an appointment. I am happy with this but the wait for your appointment once you're at the surgery is quite frustrating. I was seen over an hour late at my most recent appointment. The 10 minute time limit is also quite limiting and can make you feel quite rushed, particularly when you have sat waiting for an hour to be seen.

The Castle Practice are a very good surgery. I can always get an appointment when I need one, and I do not have any problems with the phone lines. The doctors are great, and I see the nurses every few months for my B12 injections. I have pre-booked appointments for my injections and I am sent text message reminders about the appointments which is very helpful. I always recommend this surgery to family and friends because I hear such awful stories about other surgeries. I am very satisfied with the service provided here.
