The advice line was brilliant and helpful when I have contacted them for advice. They are always thorough, kept me informed and always calm.
Good but need to provide local health care

The service is good and the staff are good however the medical service they provide appointments for or refer to are not locally accessible. I have issues with my leg and when I have contacted them I have been advised to go to the other side of Birmingham. The NHS needs to apply for out of hour GP appointment services.

Called 111 advice line for a issue with my finger which was swollen and bleeding. I provided the details and symptoms. The staff was helpful. They referred me to go to see a medical service not local. I went to the medical GP however was turned away without any treatment.
With condition getting worse I contacted 111 again where I was referred to see another medical centre.
The medical centres referred to were not close and were on the other side of Birmingham in Aston otherwise the service was good.

Contacted the NHS 111 advice line on the back of not being able to get a GP appointment. When I spoke to them and told them my health issue they listened and were very good with the service they provide & advice they gave.

I had a major scan and no results was provided to me. When I contacted the 111 Advice line I was told to wait for GP but I have been waiting for about a month.

I was advised by my go to contact 111 advice line regarding health issue and they ask to many questions especially when there is language barrier and no translator is provided
Pregnant wife vomitting. Worried for baby.

Terrible experience. Phoned at midnight with pregnant wife vomitting severely. Did not feel heard by operator . Had a callback from a GP within an hour (which was good). GP suggested getting an over the counter anti-travel sickness tablets, which is not recommended for use in pregnancy. Overall terrible and rushed service, and a waste of everyone's time.

Mostly good experience, however when I had covid or thought I had as it was a time when they weren't testing people, I was told only to phone if I couldn't breathe. I wasn't thinking properly due to lack of oxygen and said ok, in hindsight I should have called an ambulance to get checked over.

Our son woke up because his chest was really rattling and it sounded as though he was struggling to breathe. I thought it was croup, which I know is not life threatening. I therefore thought 111 was the service I needed to get some advice as to what to do and/or where to take him. I called and, even though I selected the option to say I was calling on behalf of a child aged 0-5 (which I thought would give me priority), I waited on hold for about 20 minutes without any sign that I would get to speak to anyone any time soon. I therefore was left with no choice but to call an ambulance…
A few months previous to this, I called and was not put through to my local service. They told me they could make an appointment with my doctor to call me the next day about my son’s health issue but no appointment was made and nobody called. I had to call my doctors to ask what was happening and sort out an appointment with the doctor myself.
