Excellent surgical team

I had an operation on my spine following treatment for a spinal infection. The operation went as well as possible and the surgical team were fantastic. They explained everything to me. Care in recovery and on the ward was great too, with wonderful helpful staff.

Lovely nurses but horrible night staff

I was admitted to the QE after suffering a grand mal. The nurses on the ward were lovely and took great care of me. Unfortunately the night staff were awful. I was treated horribly. They were unhelpful and did not want to help me to the toilet. They made my experience very unpleasant and I would not have to want to stay in there over night again.

Decline in epilepsy care

I have been under neurology for a number of years with my epilepsy. I previous had appointments every 12 months to monitor and review my condition. This has now changed and I no longer have a routine appointment at all. If I have a flare up I can contact the department and I am then supposed to get an appointment, but this has been difficult to get and I have just managed with the care of my husband and care workers.

Waiting over 18 months for day surgery

August 23, 2024
I have been seen by the endocrinology department and appointments went well. But over 18 months ago I was told that I needed to have a procedure that would be carried out as day surgery. To date I have not heard anything from the hospital about when the operation is likely to take place.

Wonderful treatment by charming staff

My wife had suspected broken rib after a fall. After an ultrasound, X-ray and CT scan, three fractured ribs were discovered plus a damaged vertebra from a previous fall which hadn't been noticed before. Excellent treatment from the doctors who were not only competent but charming and excellent communicators. To my amazement the doctor then phoned my wife at home at midnight to check on how she was!

Outstanding cancer services

I received radiotherapy as part of my cancer treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I cannot fault the service at all, the team and treatment received here was a cut above the rest! I was kept updated and informed at all times. Any concerns raised or questions asked were answered and explained fully to me.

Difficult to navigate and too busy

This hospital is a long way for me to travel and is difficult to navigate upon arrival. The main issue is that it is too busy meaning the staff do not have time to provide an outstanding service and the care is only adequate.
