Misdiagnosed & nearly lost my foot

August 9, 2023
I was misdiagnosed with gout and sent on my way. I knew it was something more serious but they would not listen. I felt I had no choice but to see a private doctor who diagnosed a blood infection. I was operated on within 3 days. If I had of left my problems in the hands of the NHS I would have lost my foot.

Can no longer attend for blood tests

It is proving quite difficult to get blood tests now that they have stopped the service at the hospital. I have been told that you need an appointment and I have been told that I cannot get them done their anymore. It was always a good service so it is very frustrating that this has service has ended.

Quick blood test

August 3, 2023
I attended the hospital for a blood test. The queue was quite long but went down very quickly. Would have been easier to have them done at the doctors but appointment was fine.

Staff are great but waiting lists are awful

The hospital itself is great, clean and bright and the staff are lovely and helpful. I have attended numerous appointments about an ongoing knee complaint but I am just told that I need to wait for an operation date and that I could be waiting for a very long time.

Follow up appointments after operation

Outpatients
August 2, 2023
I recently had a knee replacement at Good Hope hospital and I requested that my follow up appointments be carried out at Solihull, which is closer to home. My request was accommodated, and I have already attended one and I have already attended my first follow up appointment. I am now waiting to hear about my next appointment. The service was great and I will be more than happy to attend there again.

I have to attend on a regular basis for treatment for macular degeneration. I have been using the services here for 6 years and have had no problems at all during that time. The staff are great and I am very happy with the excellent care I have received over the years.

Told I would have to live with the symptoms

Outpatients
July 25, 2023
I have been seen a number of times in recent years by the urology department. I was told that I just had to live with the problems. This was affecting my life and I was experiencing re-occurring infections that were badly affecting my daily live. I recently went private for an operation that the hospital would not perform. I feel like I have a new lease of life I am just extremely disappointed that the NHS would not help me despite paying into the system my whole life.
