GPS Healthcare - Meadowside Family Health Centre

My experience has been very hit and miss. Getting an appointment can be very difficult. They have moved on to digital access for appointments using the 'Patches' system, and you cannot book an appointment over the telephone. I am 77 years old and this is a struggle, and I fear for the older community. I was however able to get an appointment back in early January 2025 when the doctor was very good and made a referral for me.

It can be difficult to get an appointment and the online booking system is a nuisance. I did manage to get an appointment when I had an urgent matter. I was happy with the service I received and the doctor made an urgent referral to the hospital which came through quickly, which was pleasing.

The nurse practitioner here was very thorough and made an appointment at the SDEC for me.

This service is really good, especially when you are elderly. They recently sorted out a referral to Heartlands when I was having issues with my knee.

GPS Meadowside are a good GP surgery and provide a good service. I have never had any problems.

I have found that Meadowside Surgery provide a very good service, particularly for the elderly. They referred me to the orthopaedic department at Heartlands Hospital, which I was pleased about.

It is very hard to get appointments. There is a lack of continuity of care and follow on care is poor. I have had an ongoing health concern they did refer me but other than that they have not been helpful at all.

The nurses I see when I visit for dressing changes are lovely and help book my next appointment for me.

I would like to give praise where praise is due, the staff are wonderful at Meadowside Surgery and especially one doctor who is so kind and just listens to you, she has a fabulous bedside manner, she is truly an asset to the surgery.

The receptionist here is absolutely horrendous. I reported her but was not satisfied with the response so I left.
