Bosworth Medical Centre

The doctors are alright but the problem is getting an appointment. I find it so hard to get an appointment, I dread having to call them or go in because its so stressful and disappointing when you can't get one.

In general Bosworth Medical Centre is okay. I can usually get an appointment or I get offered an appointment at the Chester Road Surgery. Today the service has been really good and I got an appointment here straight away.

Arrived and booked in on the computer system. Noticed about 30 minutes later that a few people who arrived after me were called into the room that it had stated I was going to be seen in. Approached the receptionists, had to queue. I was told I would be next in after that patient. Noted at that point that the self check-in was no longer working. Sat there for another 20 minutes. Watched the patient leave the room and no one was called in. Had to go back up to reception, had to queue again. Staff all disappeared. Ended up approaching the desk and asking for help. Explained that I had been there an hour at this point and that everyone had come and gone while I'd been waiting. They were not interested and were not helpful. Just said my appointment was in another room. I asked why. I got no explanation, no apology and quite honestly was fuming at the awful awful service!

The appointment took ages, I was waiting for over and hour for my appointment. My mum kept asking at reception but we still had to wait ages. The doctor was nice, but being a kid its a bit embarrassing talking to the doctor sometimes.

Bosworth Medical Centre is a really good surgery. I can get appointments when I need one. Most of the reception staff are friendly and helpful and the doctors are good.

I see the nurse every 12 months for my diabetes check up. The appointments go well and if I ever have any concerns I know I can book in with her sooner. I am very happy with the service.

I find it hard to get an appointment. Most of the receptionists are friendly and helpful but some are a bit snotty! The doctors when you see them are fine.

Rather than book a blood test appointment and wait weeks, they offer a blood test clinic on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This is a great service although you do just have to queue on arrival, it is better than waiting for an appointment or having to go to the hospital.

The phone lines are very busy, the receptionists are not very helpful either. I have recently experienced some problems with my repeat prescription. Prescription was put in in plenty of time. When I went to the pharmacist they said they had not had it so I had to go back to the doctors and ask them to send it again. They said they have but I am concerned that I am going to go to the pharmacy and they will say they still do not have it. I have lost confidence that the doctors will do what they say they will. They have told me that I need a medication review (via text message) but I have been unable to book one, which is a concern.

Bosworth Medical Centre are really good. I can always get an appointment when I need one. I have had an ongoing gynaecology problem and the doctors and nurses have been very supportive, while I waited for my hospital referral appointment to come through.
