Good but Long waiting times

Every time I have called it has been good, but there are long waits. I understand that this is down to sortage.
As a diabetic the service is really good.

Can’t make appointments

I have needed to see a gp for my children a couple of times over the last few years and I have only once managed to get through to reception due to phone lines being at capacity. I have visited reception as well to try but every time I am told they have no appointments and call 111. Terrible service when it’s for very small children/babies.

Unable to get appointments.

None urgent appointments month wait. No follow up or continuity of care. Not always treated well by Drs. Very short appointments feel rushed and uncared for. Complaints not followed up. Prescriptions are often incorrect or not done. Hospital Notes and admin disjointed.

I cannot book an appointment

I’ve heard of appt booking difficulties but hadn’t experienced myself as I haven’t needed one since before the pandemic. I now need to book a regular appt as well as a smear test appt. I’m not able to wait the long waiting times on the phone so I had no choice but to go into a surgery to book. Due to incorrect information on the website, and from receptionists, surgery closed due to lack of staff, when open the receptionists not qualified to book appts, and driving to alternative sites to then find there are no appts left anyway. This has taken me various trips over 5 days and I still have neither appt booked.

Can't get an appointment

I spend 45mins on hold trying to get through to book an appointment. You used to be able to do it online, my repeat prescription has been cancelled and I'm passed from pillar to post it's just ridiculous.

TREATED FOR LUNG CANCER 2020. TOLD BY GP AT JACEY I DO NOT HAVE CANCER AND NEVER HAVE HAD CANCER! CONSULTANT NOT IMPRESSED.
SEPT 2021 IN A LOT OF CHEST PAIN AND VOMITING,FOR 45 MINUTES MY WIFE WAS NUMBER 13 IN PHONE QUEUE SHE GAVE UP DIALLED 999 AMBULANCE HERE IN APPROX 10 MINUTES,TAKEN TO HEARTLANDS WHERE A GALL STONE STUCK IN THE BILE DUCT WAS DIAGNOSED AND TREATED.

Extremely difficult to contact

Since this GP has come under the SHP umbrella it has become extremely poor at look after it patients.
1 - it takes multiple try's to actually get through
2 - When you do get through then you can't get an appointment in a reasonable timeframe - quite often the receptionist are extremely rude and lack empathy (not all) - its as if you have a cheek to request an appointment
3 - You are passed to doctors from other surgeries who take no notice of any notes or your prior history.
4 - This merger of practices is not about providing the best Patient care it is simply about making money (greed)

This used to be a fantastic surgery but has gone right down the pan since the merger.

Cant get through to discuss blood results

Tried ot get through several times at different times of day. Only option is for urgent same day appointment if all slots have gone. My query is why they said my blood results required no further action when they are highly abnormal but cant get to speak to anyone. Cant g to NHS 111 or A&E so what is the option? will write a letter as not allowed to visit. Practice acting as if we are in full throes of pandemic with lockdown and no vaccx. Used to be great.

Went to reception, was given an appointment.

The receptionist was very helpful. I saw a doctor the same day within 2 hours. The doctor was very thorough and arranged further treatment.

too difficult to get through by phone

I was trying to get through from 8am on Monday morning. Finally the call was answered at 2pm on Tuesday afternoon. I was told there were no more emergency or routine appointments and would have to call back at 8am the following day. I said I had been trying. I was told to queue outside any of the surgeries at 8am the following day. I explained I was a carer and could not do this. I think it is not acceptable that patients cannot even get through let alone get appointments.
