UHB Heartlands Hospital

My stay here was not pleasant. It felt like they were understaffed.

The service provided by the Elderly Care Unit at Heartlands Hospital was very good. They carried out a thorough examination and did blood tests. They also facilitated a CT scan and carried out a number of other tests. They arranged for follow on care and made a referral to the rheumatology department. The staff were amazing.

My experience at children's A&E at Heartlands Hospital was very good.

The maternity care provided here is excellent.

They are really good. The staff are nice and the waiting times are okay.

I wasn't waiting long in A&E and the care was very good.

I visited this hospital for a cardiogram and they were concerned so told me to wait and see a doctor. After a 90 minute wait I was told that it was serious and they wanted to admit me. I refused but the consultant told me if I didn't get it sorted now I would be waiting a long time for a pacemaker so I agreed in the end. The care on ward 23 was terrible. They were doing the best they could but it was so busy and they couldn't cope. The food was also atrocious. I complained to the person who brought it that it was cold, who told me to tell the lead nurse, who told me to complain to PALS. Nobody would get me a hot meal! I was here for a week before being moved to Good Hope hospital.

I went into A&E at 6:30pm and was out at 2am. I was waiting quite a while to be seen but I cannot fault the staff or care received, they were wonderful.

The consultant I saw here was brilliant. He tried one procedure and it didn't work so he referred me elsewhere for further treatment.

Our experience of children's A&E was much better than expected. We were seen quite quickly. The level of care was very good.
