Dental service at the hospital was great.

In August 2022, I took my grandaughter 14 years old to have braces done and to have additional tooth removed through the dental service at the hospital through an operation.
She didn't have to wait long as she had an appointment.
After the operation, they assessed how she got on.
Staff were polite and very helpful.
They gave information and explained very process.
She is booked in again for a review appointment.

Signed off from care and no aftercare

I had pneumonia at some point but was treated as chest infection by the Birmingham doctors about 3 years ago.
I was referred by the GP to the respiratory department with my lungs.
My first appointment took place in 2020.
I had my follow up at the hospital in 2021.

When I saw them, I was signed off from their care with them stating that nothing can be done regarding my condition.

Communication was not great from the hospital. No information was provided or direction on what was to happen next.
I should have had some aftercare which was never provided.

Treatment in Speech & Language team

Referred by the podiatry department to Solihull for problems with swallowing after coming out of coma.
Used to get phone calls when I had any queries or questions.
They phoned also to do welfare checks.
The staff were ok, my brother and son use to walk to them.
They were helpful and said if there was a problem, I could contact them.

Great experience in Osteoporosis department

Dr referred me end of January. I waited 8 months.
Went to see consultant in the Osteoporosis department.
Suppose to have a keyhole which was caused severe arthritis.
Went to see about the Cartridge during one appointment.
I was then advised to come back in 6 months time.
They checked my other knee whilst I was at the appointment for the one knee.
All the staff was nice, and the only wait was in the x-ray department.
The communication was great from the department.

Procedure at the hospital was successful

In 2017 went through a procedure as I had problem urinating. The GP at Pearl Medical Centre had referred me to Solihull Hospital.
I had spent a night in the hospital and the procedure was successful.

Long waiting times in minor unit, not happy

Taken into the minor unit this year.
Was not happy their as I had to wait 6-7 hours.
Had to sit there for 7 hours. In between I was taken through to get blood tests and heart monitored.
I was advised to wait in the waiting area again after.

I had to ask how long I was going to be there.
They were helpful and provided approximate time.
I was seen and had various tests done where I was advised nothing was wrong.
The consultant didn't mention what the cause was. they said "might be due to stress"
Could tell consultants were rushed off their feet. They did their best.
They talked through the process.

No care or empathy

I had a turn there. I was resuscitated 3 times and they sent me home the next day. There was no paperwork for what had happened
