A wonderful hospital that treats you respectfully and is always clean. Solihull desperately need this hospital as others are over crowded and have exceptionally long waiting times. We need the A and E back and the MAU too. Heartlands and QE can’t cope . A valuable resource we must keep.

Covid testing
January 22, 2021
I went for a covid test in preparation for a day case operation. I thought the person doing the test quite unpleasant and unnecessarily rough. When I went for my hospital appointment a few days later, I was told that the tests hadn't been sent off for testing and all of us waiting for operations that day were sent home. All of the hospital staff, doctors, nurses and anyone else connected with those operations were all left with nothing to do, what a disgraceful state of affairs.

I felt really safe and liked how you can only get in one way, sanitizer stations and security and people standing their encouraging people to wash their hands

Told in March would get me in as a day case and unaffeted by COVID, 6 months later find out not even on waiting list as they are only treating Cancer patients and emergancies, told to got to A&E and see if they would admit me. Most efficient to use Day Case facilities but these are sitting unused.

Post operation from March took some persuading to see my husband face to face. Everyone hiding behind government guidelines. Once I pushed for appt he was seen.

I had to take my 88-year old disabled mother for an essential injection at the start of lock-down. A surreal experience as the normally bustling hospital was like a ghost town. We were treated with nothing but kindness, respect and good humour during our half an hour visit. It gave us a flavour of what it must be like for our heroes working on the front line. We were both so grateful that mom got the treatment she needed. Thank you Solihull Hospital and the NHS
