MRI results took 6 months

I had an MRI at Solihull Hospital and it took six months for me to get the results. I was told that I needed a follow up appointment which was never made. I chased this up and a telephone appointment was arranged then cancelled. I'm still waiting and this has been going on for nearly two years now.

Excellent outpatient experience

I was seen by the outpatient department for problems with my knee. I did not wait long for the referral appointment to come through. Treatment was prompt and staff were great. Diagnosis and treatment options were well communicated to me by staff.

Excellent care from Gynaecology department

My experience with this department has been fantastic. I have been able to get same day appointments when needed. The consultants and nurses are outstanding, communicate well and I have always been treated with care.

Disruption on ward caused by other patients

I was an inpatient and treated for prolapse surgery. Care and treatment were very good. What ruined the experience was the way that other patients disrupted the ward. They were very rude and abusive to staff, and when they had visitors they also caused disruption and behaved in the same manner. It was a very unpleasant experience when trying to rest and recover.

Language barriers with booking service

I received a telephone call from the booking office after being referred by my GP. Due to English not being my first language and only being in the country for a few months I found it hard to communicate over the telephone. I have attended the hospital today to speak to someone directly as my understanding is better when talking to people in person. The staff have been very helpful.

Very good care with wonderful nursing team

I received cancer treatment for bowel cancer. I had an operation and received chemotherapy treatment. The care here has been very good. The nurses are wonderful and have treated me with such care and kindness.

Great cancer services

I was at the hospital for cancer treatment 2 years ago, I must say that all the staff were helpful and supportive. The chemotherapy was harsh on me and I lost hair and feelings in my mouth and legs. Now it is getting better. One thing I would wish for is A&E at Solihull because it is too far for me to go to heartlands.

We are very pleased to inform you that in June 2023 the MIU will be opening again and in addition to this service there will also be a minor illnesses service which will be provided by a local primary care provider (GPs) and this collaboration will mean that the two services will be opened in June as the Solihull Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC).

The UTC will provide a much needed urgent care service – supporting with minor illnesses and injuries - for the residents of Solihull.

Very good service, seen very quickly

Attended today with my daughter for an endoscopy. Very happy with the service and care received. Good communication from staff. We were seen promptly and the procedure did not take too long.

Rheumatology - very accessible & informative

I am receiving ongoing care from the rheumatology department. They are excellent. My consultants secretary is easy to contact and helpful. The specialist rheumatology nurses are great, I can call and leave a message and they always call me back.
