UHB Solihull Hospital

It is ashame the Solihull A&E and walkin clinics have gone as they were cleaner and not as busy as the heartlands hospital. It was easy to access and the service was very good. It was a place that I could go to in case of emergencies rather then waiting for GP or going to a A&E/walk in that is far.

Too far from me, Drive long distance for check ups that can be done at my local GP. Very unsustainable for me.

Always great service and excellent care

My son was referred to the solihull ophthalmology department from the opticians over a year ago. I have chased the hospital however they have advised if the issue is not urgent then i would need to wait to get an appointment.

If there was a A&E and walk-in center locally then it would help with not having to be reliant on other hospitals. It would be easy to access especially if you have physical health condition which restricts you.

I go to see the consultants in the physiotherapy department and to the osteopathy department.
The staff are brilliant and the communication is good. they always keep me informed and they carry out scans and tests.
the appointments are 6 weeks apart however they are very helpful/

I only got my appointment at the GP regarding the matter because they had written to them.

Only suggestion would be to bring back the Walk in and A&E. Had they had the walk- in clinic or the A&E i would have been able to get to that for my injured toe to be looked at. I consulted my GP only to be advised to ring 111 or 999.

Instead I waited for my next appointment at the hospital to get it checked which they happily checked for me.

would like the Walk-ins and Solihull A&E to reopen. They services were accessible and were good if their was emergencies outside of the gp hours. It took away the strain of being reliant on the GP.
When you have children local services are required.

It is a almost new, built for the people of Solihull, and nearly all the services have gone. Other hospitals are full to capacity no places to park difficult to get there for the older people…it should not be happening

My father was in Solihull Hospital ward 20b in March last year and he sadly passed away during their lockdown and following discharge due to very poor treatment at the hospital and being discharged in a very weak state, bowel completely compacted. Much bad was happening at that hospital during his stay there.

Even after considering recent circumstances, it is essential that we retain a 24/7 MIU in Solihull Hospital as the footfall in March 2020 would have been low due to the strict lockdown at the time which presently no longer exists. Further, local residents (many of them elderly) are able to independently travel to Solihull hospital and can receive urgent medical care without been put at further risk by having to travel miles, or worse still having to arrange travel to other hospitals which increases stress to patients and adds to the existing long waiting times at other hospitals .
