UHB Solihull Hospital

My experience when having blood tests at Solihull Hospital is always very good. The service is well run, I never have to wait long and the staff are great.

The staff here are very experienced. I prefer having blood tests here because I don't end up with nasty bruising like when I visit another UHB hospital.

My experience at Solihull Hospital has been good. I see my rheumatology consultant here. They are good and I am happy with the service provided and care/treatment I have received.

The phlebotomy department at Solihull Hospital provide a good service. It can be busy but the queue moves quickly.

The care is good but waiting times for the ophthalmology department at Solihull Hospital can be very long. At my appointment earlier this week I waited over an hour to be seen.

I visit Solihull Hospital's ophthalmology department on a regular basis for eye appointments. The services provided are good. I can wait between 6 weeks and 3 months for follow up appointments, but I have not experienced any issues as such.

I have attended a number of follow on appointments after having surgery at another UHB hospital. The follow on care has been very good and I am happy with the service I have received.

The phlebotomy department at Solihull Hospital is excellent. You can just walk in and wait for a blood test. The department is never busy when I attend and I have never encountered a long wait. The staff are very friendly. It is much quicker popping here for a blood test than waiting for GP availability.

I have been experiencing problems getting through to the rheumatology helpline on the number provided to me and have to leave messages. I understand that they are very busy but it can take some time for them to call me back and book me in. I had a long wait at my most recent appointment because the nurses needed to find my records and read through them. That does not normally happen, and in general my experience is usually better than this.

I attend Solihull Hospital's ophthalmology department on a regular basis for treatment. Waiting times can be long and I have waited up to an hour and a half in the past. That said there are signs up in the department and the staff do keep me informed. Treatment and care is very good. Parking is very difficult. My daughter brings me to my appointments and at the most recent visit we had to drive in an out of the car park four times before we found a space. There were no disabled bays available and parking in a normal space as a wheelchair user was very difficult.
