A good service with wonderful nurses

September 25, 2024
The minor injuries unit in the urgent treatment centre provide a very good service. I was seen by a wonderful nurse who sent me for an x-ray. I was seen quickly and following the x-ray, confirming no break, my injury was treated adequately.

Seen and treated very quickly

I used the urgent treatment centre as a walk in patient for a minor injury. I expected to be waiting hours to be seen and treated, but I was in and out very quickly which was a relief. The nurse who treated me was lovely. I was very impressed with the great service they provided.

Seen very quickly, Brilliant!

September 25, 2024
I came straight to Solihull Hospital's Urgent Treatment Centre after suffering a minor injury at school. I was seen very quickly and had an x-ray. It was confirmed that I had broken my finger and it was strapped up by a nurse. A follow up appointment was booked for me to attend the Fracture Clinic at Heartlands Hospital at a later date. The nurse and other staff were really nice and I was very happy with the care and treatment I received.

A good service but referred to Heartlands

September 25, 2024
I came to the walk in minor injuries unit after suffering a fall, and injuring my face. The service was good, the nurses were lovely, but I was unable to see a doctor and was directed straight to Heartlands Hospital so that I could be examined by a doctor. I was given a letter to hand in at Heartlands Hospital but it would have been far more convenient if I could have been referred to Solihull Hospital as the UTC is located there.

Good but referred on to Heartlands Hospital

September 25, 2024
I booked an appointment online to see a doctor at Solihull Hospital's Urgent Treatment Centre. The service provided was good and I did not wait long to be seen. I was expecting to wait much longer. I was referred straight on to Heartlands Hospital with a letter to hand in at SDEC. It's not great that I have had to go to another hospital and that I could not go straight in to Solihull Hospital rather than travel to Heartlands Hospital.

Seen quickly by a brilliant doctor

September 25, 2024
An appointment was made with the urgent treatment centre to be seen by a doctor after having no luck getting an appointment with my GP. The system for booking an appointment is quite difficult needing to know your NHS number and registering etc. This could be made simpler or better still you should be able to just walk in to see a GP. That said, the doctor was brilliant and I was seen quickly. I was happy with the care I received, and the service that was provided.

Unclear information around access

July 16, 2024
The information provided online is very unclear. You can't walk in and have to book an appointment. This meant that I had to walk out and book an appointment for an insect bite. When I explained that I had been sent by the pharmacist I was seen very quickly but they would not provide antibiotics so I had to go to my GP.
