14 hour wait with blocked catheter
February 28, 2024
I was told to go to A&E at Heartlands by my GP because I was having problems with my catheter and it was blocked. It was a Friday evening. I was waiting for 14 hours overnight, I had to sit on a hard chair in the waiting room. My experience was awful.

I recently attended this hospital for a maternity appointment as well as a consultant phone call. The wait times were long but the staff were lovely.
Excellent breast cancer treatment

I received treatment for breast cancer at Heartlands Hospital. The staff were wonderful I could not fault them. My treatment went well and I am now cancer free.
Awful waiting times in A&E
February 23, 2024
My experience of the A&E department at Heartlands Hospital was awful. Waiting times were extremely long, and the staff were not very friendly or helpful. This may be due to how busy they were but a little kindness goes a long way and my experience could have been much much better.
Okay but parking is stressful
February 21, 2024
My appointments with maternity have gone okay though there can be a bit of a wait. I am not local to this hospital so it is difficult to get to as parking here can be a nightmare.

The staff here are nice but wait times tend to be longer than average.
Very good experience in maternity

I have had a very good experience here so far. The hospital is easy for me to get to and the staff are very good. I would like to receive the rest of my maternity care here.
Lack of communication between staff
February 20, 2024
I visited Heartlands for a C-section and the lack of staffing meant that I was waiting a long time for pain medication and dressing. There seemed to be a lack of communication between staff which led to a lot of confusion.
