UHB Heartlands Hospital

The children's wards at this hospital are amazing.

I had heard a lot of negative stories about labour and delivery here so I went with lots of information and a plan. My experience was good overall as a result.

I recently visited this hospital for a check up but was told that the machinery used for testing was broken and I would have to come back another time. I refused and told them I would wait to be seen and was not leaving. They eventually found a working machine and my appointment went ahead.

We were told that I would be discharged at 10:45am but didn't end up leaving until 6:30pm. We had lots of equipment to carry and were told that nobody was available to help us. We also had to hunt for a wheelchair ourselves.

I visited the fracture clinic at this hospital and parking was a nightmare. In emergencies I go to Warwick hospital as the parking is so bad.

My consultant at the chest clinic has been excellent. They have taken fantastic care of me.

My husband was rushed to Heartlands Hospital following a cardiac arrest. The staff were amazing, they saved his life. They did an outstanding job of updating our family and looking after us during a time of such distress.

My experience at A&E at Heartlands Hospital was awful. I waited over 6 hours and had still not been seen. The waiting area was dirty and the atmosphere in there was not nice with people accompanied by police and others rowdy and drunk. The toilets were not working. The experience was so awful I left and delayed getting medical treatment because it was unbearable in there.

Outpatients appointments in the cardiology department have gone well. I have been happy with the service and treatment I have received.

I had to attending Heartlands Hospital for a blood transfusion. The treatment went well. The staff were friendly and helpful.
