Cannot get an appointment
October 24, 2020
Trying to get through on the phone is near impossible. If you do actually get through then the chances of actually getting an appointment are slim to none. The actual doctors and nurses are great when you do rarely get to see them
Not even open to offer a service, appalling

What an absolute nightmare just to try and get through to a receptionist. Ive had to pay privately for treatment as all services that were provided, aren't anymore (even though I had gone deaf in one ear, lost my balance etc. and couldnt work because of it) Shocking as we pay national insurance for healthcare needs. I worry about ever needing an appointment for my toddler who suffers from chest and ear infections in the winter, yet can't get through to anyone in reasonable time to get any kind of appointment/ treatment. You might be trying to keep staff safe by closing surgeriesbut your not keeping the community safe. We are encouraged to still seek medical advice in these difficult times but this new SHP group is making it impossible to do that. Ive never had any notification or reasoning to why my GP is closed, or any information on how to access medical advice elsewhere in their absence. Again I think its appalling.
Cannot get through to the surgery.

Clinically extremely vulnerable and i cant get my medication, i have been told they will contact me for a flu jab they havent and I cant get an appointment with any Dr that knows me. Its appauling. Not so much Haslucks fault but SHP does not work especially for the most vulnerable.
Terrible since joined shp

You try to ring about an issue, you either wait to speak to someone for about 40 minutes on hold or it says sorry our lines are at full capacity and asks you to email and they will get back to you within 48 hours. How ridiculous if you are asthmatic and cant breathe very well or have a water infection, the lust goes on. You dont get to see a doctor, they do phone appointments so you cant show them things properly. The poor receptionist staff who have still got their jobs should be given a medal as they are the ones dealing with angry patients or the people who are suffering with anxiety after waiting so long on the phone. Just because the doctors surgeries have joined together it doest mean that you need less receptionists or doctors as you still have the same amount of phone calls and patients as before. It was hard enough to get an appointment before they merged. The service seems non existent now. It is appalling

meds changed by surgery pharmacist but not updated on patient access. Went down to surgery with a note only to find letter boxes covered with signs saying do not put anything in here. Phoned shp was 39th in queue. Then had to wait 7 days before script was sent to pharmacy by which time I had run out. Patient access was then suspended so another 15 min wait on shp line. Can't speak to any GPS I know. The whole thing is just a shambles. Not impressed
The surgery has been closed since March

not been able to contact the surgery or see my own doctor since March. So how can I rate accurately if their doors aren't open?
Very bad service

1 hour on the phone to be placed in another queue after another hour I got to number 1 and got cut off all for a query on meds recommended by a consultant that I couldn’t get
Ended by me waiting outside the surgery door to get it sorted
Abysmal service since SHP and Covid

Hate having to phone SHP to try to get an appointment, I’ve waited almost half an hour in a queue only to be disconnected several times. I want it to go back to how it was. I was supposed to be contacted in May to have my bloods done and a diabetic check but nothing!
Previously an excellent surgery

The merger with SHP has meant that on 2 occasions this year we have had to ring 111 and go to A and E when previously we would have been able to get a same day appointment. The telephone queues are too long or unanswered and an email is sent for an urgent appointment (severe ear infection) and a response is received 2 days later when attendance at A and E has already been necessary. It is frustrating that a previously excellent and efficient surgery is in decline. A positive is that the repeat prescription service works well but that has always worked well. I am not a person to complain but am frustrated that same day emergency appointments mean we have to go to an already over stretched A and E.
