Excellent treatment but long waiting times

I found the waiting times very long and the communication from the hospital very poor. I was very unwell due to recreational drug use and lost the use of my legs for 12 weeks. The staff were lovely and treated me and my family very well. I felt no judgment just help and support to get me better, they were great.

I received liver treatment at the QE. I was looked after but I feel that I could have been treated with more kindness and care.
Excellent Stroke Services

I was admitted for 4 days after suffering a stroke. I received outstanding care and treatment at the QE. The NHS is brilliant.
Better experience that at UHB Heartlands

Better service offered here than at other UHB hospitals. Feel like they do a better job at caring for their patients and meeting their needs. When my elderly relative was admitted here we were really happy with the quality of care he received.

This review is made on behalf of a very close family member who is being treated by the oncology department. The expert care she is receiving is outstanding but it is very difficult having to attend daily. Travelling from one side of Birmingham to the other when seriously ill is really taking a toll on her treatment and recovery. It is a shame that these services cannot be provided at other hospitals such as Heartlands or Solihull.
Staff go above and beyond to help

I am treated by the AMFT department for my arthritis and also in the haematology department. The care from staff is excellent the staff go above and beyond to help. Communication is very good and staff are friendly and kind.

The nurses and lower level staff are doing their best but the top level staff such as doctors and consultant are so poor with communication. They leave you with no clear explanations and directions. Awful.
Long waiting times but I received a great care

My BP was high and my doctor sent me to A&E and after waiting for 8 hours at A&E, I was taken to the ward and I was admitted for 5 days until my BP was at a safe level.

Overall care from the cleaners to the consultants they are all excellent. Nothing but praise for them all on the whole.
