Great Service

Solihull Mind have offered Professional Mental Health Services within Solihull for a number of years. They offer Daytime and Crisis Drop-in 365 days a year, Counselling Services, Art and Creative groups as well as supporting people. During Covid they offered one to one phone calls and Zoom meetings as well as getting food parcels to those who needed them, until they were able to offer a temporary drop in at their Holticultral site, none of which were offered by Primary Services. The Staff are very professional, I think any negative comments may be more due to personal grievances than professional standards offered by this unique service

Solihull Mind offers outstanding services to people within the borough including Advocacy, Drop-in, Counselling Services, Crisis Drop-in. During Covid in particular they offered phone calls and zoom meetings and also helped people in need access food parcels. Any negative comments may be more due to personal grievances than the professionalism of staff

I queried a volunteer policy but was told I was negative. The organisation do not understand governance and operate well outside a practice of balances and checks. Consequently they are a law unto themselves and hurt and bully many people they are supposed to support. Their lack of contact during co vid to many members was appalling. I know of many people like myself who have been damaged by their input.
This organisation is dangerous.

I am a former vice-chair and service user of Solihull Mind.
There is a long standing issue with a staff member who is a bully towards service users. Some are treated in such a way that they do not come back, and even if they do their mental health can be seriously damaged.
This is allowed to continue because anyone who complains is themselves treated as a troublemaker, and is liable to be banned by the director and trustees. This has happened to me and several others, and is a form of bullying in itself.
This has been going on for at least 15 years, and will continue to do so because Solihull Mind resists any outside scrutiny and in practice is accountable to no-one.
