The midwives are really good

This was my first visit to the antenatal clinic at Solihull Hospital as I am usually seen at Heartlands Hospital. My experience was good, parking was good. The midwives at Solihull Hospital were great.

A good service but not local to me

My first visit to Solihull Hospital Antenatal Clinic. The staff are good and the service has been fine, I have just found it quite far to travel to the hospital when I live much closer to Heartlands Hospital and would have preferred to be seen there.

The department seems messy and unorganised

The maternity care at Solihull Hospital seems unorganised, manic and messy compared to Heartlands Hospital. The service seems delayed with long waiting times, which I think could be improved if staff communicated better between themselves. It seems like the staff have no idea on who has been seen or who needs to be seen. They could be understaffed which is causing problems. The staff are very nice though.

A good experience with a patient sonographer

The service here has been good, I've had a few scan appointments here. The sonographers were very patient and I had to keep going out and walking around because baby was not in the correct position.

Long wait for hernia appointment

I have been waiting for 12 months for an appointment about a hernia. If I have another long wait for the operation I will have to go private.

Fast track cancer referral

I was referred to the hospital on a cancer pathway. My appointment happened quickly. The doctors and nurses were excellent and following investigation and tests cancer was not detected. I cannot fault the service I received.

I did not feel listened to or understood

I had a specialist appointment at Solihull Hospital with a consultant. The appointment was very hard. I did not feel that the consultant knew why I was there or understood my explanation of the problems I have. There were some problems with language and me understanding him and I am unsure if he had problems understanding me. He knew nothing of my medical history. The letter I received following the appointment stated the exact opposite of what I explained and asked for. I have tried to call the secretary but have had no luck getting through. I feel disappointed about how my appointment went and with the final outcome.
